About Us

We are Brian and Clarissa Krahn, directors of Ancla de Amor.

We would like to welcome you to Ancla De Amor. Our desire is to show you a glimpse into our life, which has now become our entire world.

Our pursuit is to bring some justice to the precious lives of children that have been either abandoned, neglected or orphaned. Although we live in a constant uphill battle, there’s nowhere else we would rather be.

We are diligently moving forward with faith and passion knowing that the lives of these little ones are being changed and transformed day by day.

This will go to cover day to day expenses at the Ranch, such as Groceries, Fuel, Utiliies, Living Amenities, etc.

Our Staff are the life blood of our organization. By donating in honour of them, you keep our staff support system going strong.

Through our anchoring partner Children of Hope you have the opportunity to go on a short term trip to Mexico.

Become a major contributor to our building projects and visions of future structures that need help funding.

Twenty years ago I started going to “Pan de Vida Orphanage” in Queretero, Mexico. This, soon turned into something which became very dear to my heart. We also started going to “Esperanza para Ti”, (another orphanage) and we always love the children and staff there, as well as the culture. We started sponsoring children we had gotten to know so we could put a little extra into their lives. Children of Hope is a great team which lets us get up close and personal which we really love. My husband and I were invited by a friend to Ancla at the beginning of 2021. Having adopted a three day old Mexican baby boy thirty five years ago, we were hoping we could help find homes for these special children. After talking with Brian and Clarissa, I learned that the children were not currently allowed to be adopted. They would remain at Ancla until they turned eighteen. I couldn’t even imagine caring for 25 children (and the number was growing) til they reached adulthood. But Ancla’s goal is not just to care for these children, but to make a difference for good in each of their lives.

“We recently had the privilege of visiting Ancla de Amor orphanage in Mexico with our family of six. Initially, our children were uncertain about what to expect, but their hesitation quickly turned to joy and compassion.

The reality of the orphanage exceeded our expectations. The children have a safe, clean, and fenced-in environment to play and thrive. The staff’s dedication and love for the children are evident, providing them with physical, emotional, and spiritual support.

Our time at Ancla de Amor was nothing short of life-changing.
From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with open arms by the dedicated staff and the children.

During our mission trip, my role was to provide haircuts for all the girls and their caretakers. While they were incredibly grateful, I quickly realized that the true blessing was mine. I Those moments spent one-on-one with each child allowed me to connect with them and start to get to know their individual personalities.
